摘要

The design of real-time systems needs to take into account their performance behaviour before their implementation. This goal can be attained by means of queueing network modeling. To process these kinds of models, simulation is normally used with its inherent costs of debugging and running time. This paper presents the analysis of several kinds of performance models of the communications channel used in the construction of real-time software systems. These models go from simple FIFO connected queues to the simulation of the complete element passing through a decomposition-aggregation approximate model composed by different kinds of producer-consumers. Alol these analytical models can be considered as elements of a library and could be included in a software package. The results show that this approach of building software elements by composing simpler ones could simplify the design of a real-time software system.
