Recording Diagnostic and Interventional Procedures in the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory: A Relational Database with Graphical User Interface

The progressive developement of diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac laboratory requires an improved documentation and quality control.rnWe designed a relational PC database for the documentation of coronary angiography, ventriculo-graphy, hemodynamic measurement, aortography, angioplasty including all modern interventional techniques as well as diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology.rnThe database is programmed with ACI 4th Dimension on Apple computer offering a complete windowbased user interface. All data entry can be done by mouseclick and graphical buttons minimizing the need for keybordentry.rnThe database complies with the nationally agreed minimal basis cardiological and ACC recommended dataset.
