摘要

The multigrid method has been applied to large scale electromagnetic Finite element (FE) analysis to show that it can reduce computational time in comparison with conventional linear solvers. However, the limit of memory space becomes an obstacle to apply the multigrid method to further large scale analysis. Thus we develop a new geometric multigrid (GMG) method to reduce memory consumption for large scale FE analysis. It is not necessary to make the system matrix corresponding to the fine mesh in the proposed method. Numerical results show that a large scale magnetstatic analysis with more than 10,000,000 unknowns can be executed on a personal computer.
