There are some reports concerning the homogeneous phase polymerization of Vinyl monomer such as acrylamide(AAm) ,acrylonitrile(AN) initiated by polymerizable redox initiation system, and the initiation mechanism has been revealed exhaustively.This paper reports the inverse suspension polymerization of AAm initiated by a polymerizable redox initiation system consisting of potassium persulfate(KPS) and N, N - dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate(DMAEMA). The polymerization kinetics, molecular weight and UV analysis for the polymer were studied. The reaction was carried out in n-heptane with disperser span 80 as continueous phase and AAm water solution as disperse phase. Conversion of polymerization are detected by ordinary bromination method. Polymerization rate(Rp) can be obtained from the slope of conversion-time plot. Molecular weight of PAAm are measured by viscosity method. PAAm sample for UV analysis were reprecipitated several times by water-methanol system.
