Reform of Brunei’s Master Plan to keep Urban Growth Compact

Like other countries in South-East Asia, Brunei Darussalamhas been experiencing rapid urbanization in recent years.Most of the urban growth has been occurring in Brunei-Muara district (Fig.1), the capital and smallest district of thecountry. Sprawl, inefficient use of land, uncoordinateddevelopments and declining green areas are among the resultof this urbanization.
