摘要

Technology plays a vital role in enhancement of productivity, quality, reduced cycle time & cost, implementation of lean production management, and hence competitive advantage. New vistas of operations strategy open in terms of economization of resources, process yield improvement, quality improvement, flexible production system or mass customization and prompt market response with the acquisition of new technology. This study was conducted to assess and analyze the overall impact of induction of CNC machines, as latest technology, in such a production shop, in terms of changes in the productivity and quality of product especially the trend in the %age wastage and manpower requirements as compared to conventional turning and boring operations.
