In this paper, current situation of the industrial application of electromagnetic phenomena, where electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation, superconducting levitation, TOKAMAK. plasma confinement device, high efficient electromagnetic machines etc. are concerned, is reviewed with emphasis on the research activities developed in the Japan Society of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics. In addition, some proposals for promoting future development of the application of electromagnetic phenomena are also made aiming at more active collaboration on the subject among the Asian countries to produce more fruitful scientific and technological achievements.
