As new materials are being developed, new test methods have also been developed to better predict performance. European test methos have been imported to the U.S., and the Strategic Highway research program also developed new laboratory methods to better characterize liquid asphalt and asphalt mixtures in terms of field performance. The polymer modified liquid asphalt tested as a Superpave Performance Grade PG 82-22.
