As can be seen from the figures in Table 2. the relative operating costs of the Atmospheric evaporator relative to the Vacuum evaporator are just shy of one tenth, based on a cost per litre produced basis.Although lower energy cost is a factor in the reduction of operating cost, the lower capital costs as well as the much lower routine operating costs play a much larger role in the lower cost of water recovered.
