Dielectric and electrical properties of poly (methyl Methacrylate) (PMMA) and Poly (vinyl Pyrrolidione) (PVP) in polar solvents have been studied in the frequency range of 20 Hz to 2 MHz at room temperature. The effect of polar solvent environment on the dielectric and electrical parameters such as complex dielectric constant (ε~*), complex electrical modulus (M~*), complex impedance (Z~*) and relaxation times has been analyzed. Dielectric dispersion studies show that the polymer concentration and solvent environment play an important role in governing the segmental motion of polymer chain in solution. At low frequencies, the ionic conduction and electrode polarization seems to have dominant influence on the complex dielectric constant.
