摘要

Present paper describes a long term monitoring process of few environmental parameters for evaluating green energy potential (wind energy and solar energy) of a small geographical area (~ 32 km~2). The monitoring approach presented in this paper consists in: real-time data acquisition process using two real-time data acquisition devices (DAQ); a wireless network used for long distance data transmission in order to send all acquired data to a remote location for processing; Virtual Instrument (VI's) applications used for controlling data acquisition devices and the acquisition process; a network protocol analyzer used for a detailed analysis of the communication protocols and data packets; the management of the huge volume of sensor data by using a high level software application; long term sensor monitoring using a complex graphic software application. The measured environment parameters are the following: wind speed, wind direction, temperature, sun intensity and illumination, steel pylon vibrations on three axes.
