Reaction sintering technique applied solid reaction was developed to control the process of reaction sintering for Ni-Al system intermetallic compounds. The processes included holding on the temperature range of the solid phase of Al and Ni and then heating over Al melting point. The results showed that holding on the temperature range of the solid reaction can control the peak temperature of the reaction sintering. The two processes, which are named 1-step and 2-step holding reaction sintering were proposed and realized. The process time of 2-step holding reaction sintering was shortened than 1-step holding reaction sintering. The density of sintering product was increased by reaction sintering applied the solid reaction under vacuum hot press.
