This paper highlights the value of post-fracture tracer analysisrnas an evaluation tool to aid in fracture design. A fracturerndesign can be evaluated and compared to actual field results.rnWhen the results of this fracture design analysis are thenrncompared to tracer analysis and to predicted and actualrndeliverability, fracture design can be improved and optimized.rnTo verify this procedure, five wells were chosen for a casernstudy.rnThe chosen gas storage reservoir had two active pay zonesrnseparated by 14–30 ft. Radioactive tracers were run in therntreatments of five gas storage wells. Wells were then logged torndetermine the location of the tracers and determine whetherrnboth zones were effectively stimulated. In addition torndetermining whether zones were effectively stimulated,rndetermining fracture height and comparing measured to therndesign fracture height was possible.rnAll of the wells were flow tested before stimulation, andrnpotential deliverability increase was predicted. Poststimulationrnflow potential was estimated by the chokernflowback results and compared to predicted results. (Multipointrnflow tests will be conducted after one year of storagernactivity to determine actual results.) Flowback results indicaterngood correlation between fracture design predictions andrnactual field results.
