Fast airflow and heat transfer simulation is important for conceptual building design, real-time system control and emergent environment management. This paper developed a new fast computational method called semi-Lagrangian PISO (SLPISO) that integrates the semi-Lagrangian scheme with a PISO solver. The developed SLPISO solver can significantly reduce the computational cost compared to the conventional methods such as SIMPLE while maintain the required accuracy. For problems with velocity and pressure strongly coupled, relatively small time step is suggested and necessary to achieve accurate transient simulation solutions.
