Extracted from Artificial Intelligence theories, Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) are recent techniques that are based on combinatory mathematical approaches. We have developed a new approach based on CSP that aims at supporting the embodiment design phase of product design process. In this article, we present an overview of our approach that integrate two phases: the first phase consists in assisting Constraint Based Representation of design problem, and the second phase involves use of a specific numeric-CSP solver named Constraint Explorer.rnTo illustrate and to comment our approach, we solve a real industrial problem with CE and our constraint based modeling techniques.
