The demand of broadcasting service for mobile multimedia is greatly increasing as mobile cellular service is g etting popular. To meet this demand, s ervice providers have to a llocate additional r adio resources for broadcasting channel as well as communication channel. Therefore, it leads to a decrease in capacity for existing communication channel, From this point of view, satellite DAB system with wide frequency bandwidth is one of the most attractive candidates to solve this problem. But it also has a demerit that quality of service degrades in case of none line-of-sight situation. Hence, installing complementary terrestrial on-channel repeaters (which are called as gap filler) to cover the shadowed area, we approach to provide multimedia broadcasting service through satellite DAB system by the request of mobile phone subscribers. In this paper, we present a link-budget table to estimate the coverage of gap fillers in satellite DAB Digital System E. And we provide field test results in various environments.
