A Proposal on Flexible Metadata Exchange Model Based on Metadata Fragmentation

In this paper, we propose a flexible metadata exchange model based on metadata fragmentation. In this model, a complete set of metadata is divided into several fragments, and each fragment can be distributed and circulated over networks individually. The reconstruction of the original metadata is easy using some link information included in them. This model provides much more flexible metadata circulation, and allows the word-of-mouth style metadata flow among users. This model is designed as an enhancement of the metadata delivery standard specified by TV-Anytime Forum, in order to promote much more metadata flow which would yield much more contents flow eventually.
