The mechanism of managing the forwarding table in the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch

The Gigabit Ethernet Switch has two modules which are address learning process and filtering database. And these modules are implemented in the hardware chip. However there are some problems in our 10GE(Gigabit Ethernet) system because of composing of multiple network processors and multiplexer or demultiplexer. In this paper, we introduce the 10GE system architecture and show the method decreasing some overheads in order to manage the L2(Layer 2) Forwarding Table effectively.
