COMMUNICATION IN MULTICULTURAL GROUPS

Today, a group of young students find themselves learning all the ins and outs of Europe inrna very practical hands-on initiative called SSETI (Student Space Exploration andrnTechnology Initiative). Instigated by the ESA Education Department, SSETI is a frameworkrnthat enables groups of Students from various European countries to propose and developrnmicro-satellite projects. Over 400 students from all over Europe have been involved in thisrninitiative.rnIn such an international environment, having the adequate technology does not meanrnthat communication is straightforward. In order to animate and maintain its Europeanrnnetwork, the SSETI students are using specifically adapted communication tools based onrnInternet.rnThrough these projects, students are facing various technical and economical challenges asrnwell as a social and cultural first hand experience. Everyday they have to be proactive andrncreative to solve whatever problem has arisen. Sharing ideas and methods, each studentrnbringing its contribution to the project, the team grows stronger and more efficient, basedrnon the individual strength and skills of each in a cooperative way.
