Here we report series of electromagnetic phenomena including two-side diffraction radiation and wave transmission excited by a point charge moving parallel to the surface of a sub-wavelength holes array. The properties of diffraction radiation in each half space may be obviously different, which depends on the structure of holes array and beam energy. By using the integral equations relevant with Green's functions, the rigorous electromagnetic wave theoretical analysis for the whole system is carried out and agreed well with the computer simulation. The differences of spectrum of diffraction radiation waves in each sides are revealed and discussed in detail. Utilizing the distinct characteristics of this system, some potential sources or devices especially working in terahertz region may be developed.
