DETERMINANTS OF INNOVATIONS IN THE BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION INNOVATION SYSTEM

摘要

The purpose of the paper is to describe the determinants of innovation in the building and construction innovation system. To estimate the sources of innovation, we draw upon interviews with about 20 executives working in the building and construction system. The final results of this paper confirm the existence of specific patterns of innovations and indicate that the building and construction system may be more innovative than expected. The competition within the industry, the scientific progress, the change of regulations, the clients, the power of habits, in-house R&D stimulate innovation. But their influence seems to vary according to the place of the actors within the building and construction system of innovation.
