摘要

This paper describes the design of grid connected photovoltaic system on the roof of the Engineering Faculty at Andalas University for electrical peak load shaving. The Engineering Faculty electrical system consists of four electrical feeders to supply five buildings. The total daily load demand is 630 kWh/day with peak load of 121.8 kW. The PV system is designed based on actual data of small scale PV system installed on the rooftop Electrical Engineering Department during clear sky weather condition. The same 250 Wp solar module polycrystalline silicon type have been used for upscale design. The result shows that the peak load of Engineering Faculty can be shaved to be 61.2 kW by 117.5 kWp PV system which amounts of PV modules 470 units. The total area needed for PV installation is 768.64 m2.
