Modern instruments for establishing the connection between the personalized intake of dietary supplements and chronobiology

Chronobiology, from [1] and [2] refers to: “the day-night cycle that affects the human organism when the earth rotates. Genetically manifested timers reside deep in our bodies that control this fundamental rhythm. This connection is important in the prevention and treatment of diseases, as well as for the healing process. Nutritional chronobiology is the practical application of scientific knowledge to the variations of our body's functioning in relation to food”. According to the latest statistics, approximately 40% of people have an alimentation that covers only 60% of the essential micronutrients requirements. This leads the appearance of deficiencies. There are few studies concerning the personalized administration of vitamins and dietary supplements, according to the circadian rhythm. The objectives of the present study were: To prove the existence of the interrelation between chronobiology and the dietary supplements intake (1), To educate the population with respect to the vitamins and minerals intake, with the help of the online tool SuperTracker (2). The results confirm a strong connection between the personalized intake of dietary supplements and their administration schedule (chronobiology).
