This paper describes the pavement test on trafficking and coring at field on the R80 in Gauteng Province in details.The model Mobile Load Simulator(MLS) was applied on trial hot mix asphalt.The total loading cycles were upto 450,000 applications by accelerated pavement testing(APT) machine.The rutting profiles were measured and analyzed under different temperatures and cycle wheel loading.The load speed was fixed at 2,400 applications per hour for this whole test.The results show in this paper that the final rutting shapes were quite flat because of the large number of load applications close to a half million; The substructure of the pavement at this sector was solid enough to transfer the top rutting down; The temperature chamber kept the constant warm air for pavement surface as maximum 70C which reflected the conditions of Asphalt materials beyond the softening point of the binder; The lower speed than normal vehicles may produce deeper rut and the property of materials were coupled with fatigue loading.
