Chronological changes in consciousness on science and technology observed in the Delphi surveys during 40 years

Emerging attentions in experts' consciousness during 40 years were chronologically observed by text-mining on all topics in the serial Delphi surveys on science and technology in Japan. The chronological changes were revealed by extracting frequent appeared words and by their correspondence analysis. We could find the past emerging attentions and their turning points in Japan from the descriptions in which the experts tried to depict new elements in science and technology and future society. The main consciousness of experts had progressed in an incremental course during 1970s-2000. It turned around to another direction in 2000s, where they have respected the relationship with society more. A representative word that the attention has become less because of its progress was "computer". Recent attentions for "information" "energy" and "environment" and the strength in their relationship with society issues suggest that they are current emerging fields where more innovative concepts are needed.
