Image simulation has been growing important for prelaunch sensor design and data processing afterwards. Middle infrared regions have many applications in remote sensing but its image simulation has few studies, not mention its absorption regions. Considering its prospect for remote sensing application, the analysis of surface radiance composition is done in this paper to lay a foundation for surface image simulation of absorption regions in mid-infrared wavelengths. The comparison between reflected surface radiance and emission part is made by an experiment on common materials on the ground, giving the conclusions whether the radiance of reflection can be neglected or not in surface scene simulation. The analysis shows that surface radiance of reflective from water can be neglected in surface scene simulation of absorption regions in MIR; on the other hand, objects with relatively high reflectance like soils need to take the reflection into consideration.
