Performance of Parallel Interaction Architectures for CORBA-Based Systems

This paper investigates client-middleware-server interactionrnarchitectures that use concurrent server invocations forrnenhancement of performance. Three different parallelrninteraction architectures are proposed. Based onrnperformance prototypes running on networks of PC's wernhave evaluated the performance of these architectures.rnVarious network environments were emulated for thernperformance comparison of the architectures including arnwireless environment. One of these architectures called thernSynchronous Process Planner demonstrated the bestrnperformance for a broad range of system load and variousrncombinations of workload parameters. Insights gained intornsystem behavior that include the performance benefits of thernparallel architectures as well as relationship betweenrnvarious system and workload parameters and performancernare presented.
