Internal combustion engines such as spark ignition engine, Diesel engine and gas turbine are utilizing as prime movers of transportations in the world. It is expected for engines to improve their efficiency and minimize the exhaust emissions for protecting the global environment and saving the fossil fuels. Laser diagnostic techniques are key technologies to improve or develop the engines. Here, some newly developed measuring techniques are reviewed to analyze and diagnostic the engine combustion.
