In this paper the lubricity of the pure DME and DME with two kinds of lubricant additives are assessed. Some tribological measurements are carried out with a special apparatus for DME and its blend. The test for each fuel is lasted 100 hours. The results show that the surface of sliding part has obviously wear scar with pure DME as a fuel. Adding some additives, the surface is smoother. Power output of DME engine with additives is comparable to that of diesel engine. Smokeless combustion can be realized and NO_x emission is about 45% of that of diesel engine.
