Adsorption of VOC-mixtures on Activated Carbons

This paper analyses the behaviour of the adsorption of mixtures of VOC (benzene-toluene) over different AC: chemicallyrnactivated, physically activated with steam and commercial ones. This study shows that the chemically AC present muchrnbetter performance than the others, showing much higher adsorption capacities, breakthrough times and separation times.rnPorosity distribution seems to be a key factor and those carbons with higher volumes of narrow micropores have higherrnadsorption capacities and breakthrough times.
