The development of software tools in bond graph modeling has allowed the implementation of the method in the areas of automatic model generation, computer simulation and control system design. This paper presents the implementation of yet a simple but revolutionary concept, which constitutes a bridge between bond graphs and classical methods such as block diagrams and general-purpose simulation and control software such as MATLAB and SIMULINK. CAMP_G (Computer Aided Modeling Program) software started with the computer generation of differential equations of physical systems and the link to simulation languages. All this was done in symbolic form. It has been extended to the computer generation of transfer functions in symbolic form and now to the computer generation of block diagrams from bond graph models. The idea has been not only to find an equivalence of a bond graph and a block diagram but also to allow the engineer to use all the powerful tools available in MATLAB and in SIMULINK, together or separately. This means that CAMP-G's interface has been oriented to the automatic generation of MATLAB m files, the automatic generation of S-functions, generation of state space matrices, generation of transfer functions and now the automatic generation of block diagram models compatible with SIMULINK. These areas are discussed and examples of implementation are presented. This procedure can be used for designing linear, nonlinear dynamic and control systems.
