SIMPLIFICATION OF THE EQUATIONS OF NONLINEAR VIBRATIONS

The purpose of this paper is to show that equations of nonlinearrnvibrations whose linear parts involve two coefficientrnmatrices can be simplified so that the linear portions becomernuncoupled. Equivalence transformations are utilized in thernsimplification, which can substantially streamline anyrnsubsequent analysis.
