Utilizing electromagnetic field radiated from components to build a flexible 3-D printed component for the protection and condition monitoring is proposed in this paper. This component includes multiple coil antennas that are flexible. It is planned to recognize faults and failures in electric components such as short-circuit and unbalance current using stray field captured by these coils. Primarily, finding the optimum location of the coil antenna to capture the most sensitive stray field from the components is the objective. Using finite element method, the location is first identified for the healthy field through the machine and then different failures are studied. The results were then compared based on the variations of the amplitudes of the healthy and faulty fields and sent to signal processing unit for diagnosis. The 3-D printing gives this opportunity to adjust the location for various electric components based on their electromagnetic behaviors.
