Outsourcing in Chile: Evaluation Strategy in the Rapidly Changing ICT Sector

Lately, Chile has been consistently ranked at the top in Latin America and in the top quartile globally, as an attractive location for off shoring many of business and ICT related services. In this research, the strategy adopted by Chilean companies to evaluate the ICT outsourcing possibility and productively leveraging the built-up local ICT capability is analyzed. The survey questions are based on the empirical research on reported outsourcing decisions. The results show that vendor availability and contractibility were dominant factors identified by Chilean in ICT outsourcing
