Tough many solder paste printing machine have been integrated the function of 2D or 3D paste deposit inspection, more and more assembly service companies are trend to buy an individual Solder-Paste Inspection machine (SPI) and put it in-line for paste deposit quality control. But when the SPI really working in-line, the users find it’s not easy to employ the SPI to meet their original expectation. Some people even doubt whether they really need this type of machine and what they real can get back from the investment. This article attempt to share some consideration of SPI application, with some studies during a SPI process setup period, to help the SPI users understand the utility of SPI and the key points that really should be considered.
