In Thailand, a parabolic dish structure is under development for various applications in between the 300 - 600 ℃ temperature range in solar fields up to several kilowatts range. This paper is the only one part of the main of this research project about Siam Solar Dish 1" System effort in Thailand. The detail in this paper is one part of the solar thermal dish Stirling for a 10 kW power plant with lead acid battery storage in Thailand research project. That will explain the design of Solar Stirling Engine for Thailand, medium insolation nature. This paper presents the basic model scale drawing, prototype and some initial construction explanations. The engine has been designed to be built in stages. Starting from an air-cooled atmospheric to water-cooled pressurized engine. The engine can be mounted with electric heater for testing in the lab or concentrated solar receiver with thermal storage when test with the sun. using an appropriate sized parabolic reflector. This particular part of the research project activities is to find the appropriate Solar Stirling Engine design for Thailand, medium insolation nature, which will make the engine to perform the best performance, save time and money. The design effort continue to consider additional relevance topics, like the economized cost, the structural durability, and easy to machine, together with the low maintenance cost to trade off with the required light weight engine structure.
