The experiment was conducted to study the pressure profiles and gas-solid flow in the standpipe of a new cold model of circulation fluidized bed reactor combined with a coal pyrolysis reactor.The effects of superficial gas velocity in the riser Ur,circulating rate G,and aeration added to the pyrolysis chamber Qa on the axial pressure profiles in the standpipe were investigated.with Ur mcreasing the negative pressure gradient in standpipe decreased gradually.With Gs increasing the negative pressure gradient and slip VeJocity In the standpipe were also increased.Effect of aeration added to the pyrolysis chamber on gas/solid flow state in the standpipe was complicated.When Ur and orifice of the valve at the bottom of the standpipe kept constant,pressure distribution trend especiallv at the top of the standpipe would become larger with Qa increasing.The flow pattern in the standpipe changing from negative pressure mflerence to positive pressure difference occurred with Ur increasing when Qa and the orifice of the valve at the bottom of the standpipe were constant.Furthermore the modified Ergun equation was suitable for describing the moving bed flow in the standpipe ofthe system.
