To provide a catalyst capable of reducing a chemical species absorbed on a catalyst surface by light radiation and causing a reaction for selectively obtaining a desired product material without applying large heat energy, and also a method of producing the catalyst, a catalyst carrying carrier, a decomposition method, a hydrogen production method and a carrier.SOLUTION: There is provided a catalyst for reducing by light radiation a chemical species absorbed on a surface thereof originating from a processed product to obtain a product material. The catalyst is formed by doping of a second metal atom to a first material containing a first metal atom.
