The present invention relates to the technical field of unmanned aerial vehicles. Disclosed is a power-saving transmission line patrolling unmanned aerial vehicle, comprising an unmanned aerial vehicle body. The unmanned aerial vehicle body comprises a controller. Unmanned aerial vehicle rotors are connected to the unmanned aerial vehicle body. A photographing module is provided at the front part of the unmanned aerial vehicle body. A wheel frame is additionally provided at the bottom part of the unmanned aerial vehicle body. A wheel is provided on the wheel frame. The wheel is connected to the wheel frame via an axle. A controller controls the axle to rotate via the wheel frame, thus driving the wheel to rotate. The wheel is provided with a groove around the outer edge of the wheel. The advantage is such that: the unmanned aerial vehicle is not required to fly throughout a line patrolling process and is in an idle state most of the time, thus reducing energy consumption, enhancing endurance, and increasing the line patrolling distance.
