PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ink, a transfer material, a transfer material, and a method for using the transfer material for decoration of a plastic product. A thermal transfer product comprises a fixed layer between a carrier sheet and a printed ink layer. The ink contains plastic particles, a solvent, a sign additive, a dispersant, and optionally a binder. The fixed layer is coated on the carrier sheet and cured. The ink layer is printed on the fixed layer and the adhesiveness and structure of the fixed layer keeps the plastic particles in place. The printed ink layer is dried at a temperature high enough to remove the solvent from the ink layer, but low enough to prevent melting of the plastic particles. [Selection diagram] None
