Methods, systems and devices for wireless communications are described.In some cases, due to the limitations of blind decoding and channel estimation (CE), the search set specific to one or more user equipment (UE) may be pruned for blind decoding and / or CE.For example, after hashing the set of common decoding candidates into the control channel element (CCE) in the control region, the UE specific search set may be pruned to conform to the blind decoding limit because the common search space already occupies part of the full blind decoding limit.Following the pruning, the UE may hue the set of UE specific decoding candidates associated with one or more UE specific search sets to the CCES in the control area.The UE may further prune UE specific search sets based on CE restrictions while re reusing CE for duplicated hashing locations.
