Method for sealing prestressed vacuum glass, characterized in that the method comprises the following steps:1) Preparation of metal paste coatings on the surfaces to be sealed at the edges of the prestressed glass plates (2,3);2) local heating of the metal paste coating sites for sintering the metal paste coatings into metallised layers bonded to the glass plates (2,3); and3) Welding of a sealing plate (7) between the metallized layers (1) of the two glass plates to be sealed (2,3) to achieve an airtight sealing of the edges of the two glass plates (2,3),where the sealing plate consists of two sheets (7a, 7b); and wherein, while the edges of the two glass plates (2,3) are airtight sealed, the two sheets (7a,7b) are airtight welded by a metal soldering process or by an ultrasonic welding process alternately with the metallized layers (1) on the two glass plates to be sealed (2,3), and the two sheets (7a,7b) are airtight welded, to realize an airtight sealing of the edges of the two glass plates (2,3), andwherein the two sheets (7a, 7b) are airtight welded together by the metal soldering process or by the ultrasonic welding process or by a melt welding process, after the two sheets (7a, 7b) have each been led out of the joined glass sheets (2, 3).
