The present invention relates to a method for setting a position based on vision information and a robot implementing the same. In the method for setting a position based on vision information according to an embodiment of the present invention, a control unit of the robot controls the vision sensing unit of a sensing module of the robot to sense generating first vision information by using image information of an object, the control unit of the robot matching the first vision information with the second vision information stored in the vision information storage unit of the map storage unit to generate a vision candidate position; and when there is only one vision candidate position, the control unit generates position information of the robot with the vision candidate position.
