The present invention relates to a method for determining a ligand of a macromolecule, the method comprising: (a) a sample comprising (i) a complex formed by the macromolecule and the ligand and (ii) an unbound ligand; applying to a method for isolating the complex from; (b) releasing the ligand from the complex obtained in step (a); and (c) subjecting the released ligand obtained in step (b) to a chemical analysis method to determine the ligand of the macromolecule.
