To provide a carbon material for a power storage device, which is superior in the property of retaining an electrolyte solution, and which enables the enhancement of battery characteristics typified by a cycle characteristic of a power storage device.SOLUTION: A carbon material for a power storage device has a graphene laminate structure. The carbon material is 10 m/g or more and 200 m/g or less in BET specific surface area. In a pore distribution of the carbon material measured according to HK method, the volume of pores of 0.3 nm or more and 1.0 nm or less in diameter is 0.2 mL/g or more.
