Apparatus (10) for contrasting bacterial and/or viral contamination in a closed environment (A), comprising:- a wall (11) configured to be incorporated in a ceiling or to constitute a ceiling of an environment (A), which may be occupied by people (100), so as to delimit said environment (A); said wall (11) having a plurality of operating portions (12) which are open or permeable to an airflow to allow air to pass through said operating portions (12);- suction means (13) connected to said wall (11) to suck air through said operating portions (12);wherein said suction means (13) are configured to form, following their actuation, an updraft directed towards said wall (11) having a flow rate which, expressed in m3/h per unit of surface, is between 60 and 3000.
