A passenger vehicle emergency stop control system and method, comprising a door lock mechanism (1) and an emergency stop module; the door lock mechanism (1) comprises an emergency switch cover plate (10) and a trigger button (40); the emergency stop module comprises a whole-vehicle controller, a motor controller, and a motor; the whole-vehicle controller is electrically connected to the motor controller, and the motor controller is electrically connected to the motor; and the trigger button (40) and the whole-vehicle controller are linked. The trigger button (40) in the door lock mechanism (1) triggers the emergency stop control system to enable smooth braking until the vehicle is stationary in the shortest time.
