The invention relates to an embedding film (1) for solar modules having two opposite sides (11, 12) which extend along a film direction of extent (E), wherein a first side (11) of the two opposite sides (11, 12) has a surface profile with elevations (14) formed from a first elevation flank (140) and a second elevation flank (141), and wherein the elevations (14) have an elevation height (142) of less than one millimetre from an imaginary macroscopically smooth surface (15) of the first side (11) and are arranged in a repeating manner along the film direction of extent (E), and wherein the first elevation flank (140) is designed to be more than 100 times longer than the second elevation flank (141) when viewed along the film direction of extent (E). The invention also relates to a method for producing a solar module, to a method for producing the embedding film and to the use of the embedding film for producing a solar module.
