To provide a method that can measure an amount of external excretion of bilirubin to a sample in a noninvasive and simple manner.SOLUTION: The present disclosure provides a method for making a urine sample for measurement to measure a bilirubin concentration in a urine sample, the method including the step (1) in which a urine sample obtained from an animal is brought into contact with a fluorescent protein of a type that specifically binds to nonconjugated bilirubin to emit fluorescence, to obtain a reacted urine sample (contact step (i)), and the step (2) in which the reacted urine sample thus obtained is irradiated with visible light, to obtain a measurement sample (irradiation step (ii)).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
