An FPGA-based method and apparatus for implementing motor control. The method comprises: when a preset medium bearing assembly moves towards a preset separation assembly, acquiring a pulse signal generated by a preset detection assembly; sampling the pulse signal according to a preset clock frequency to obtain a sampling signal; when an edge signal is detected from within the sampling signal, determining a corresponding edge time point when the edge signal is detected; determining a target time point after a preset time period starting from the edge time point; determining a first level type of the pulse signal detected at the target time point; and according to the edge signal and the first level type, using a preset motor to control the movement of the medium bearing assembly towards the separation assembly. By means of the embodiments of the present invention, the problem is avoided in which the movement of the medium bearing assembly towards the separation assembly is stopped early due to pulse waveform jittering by the detection assembly within a preset time period, which is caused by the superimposition of a medium hardness effect.
